shadows, shadows, everywhere.......

Class 5 enjoying himself in their 'Shadowy" class.

"MY SHADOW"- R.L. Stevenson

I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow--
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,
And he sometimes goes so little that there's none of him at all.
He hasn't got a notion of how children ought to play,
And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way.
He stays so close behind me, he's a coward you can see;
I'd think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me!
One morning, very early, before the sun was up,
I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup;
But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head,
Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed

The reluctant dragon awaits.......

Hi,

A nice book read awaits all of you when you return from your vacations. I am sure that "The Reluctant Dragon" will take you all into the fantasy land from where you will be very reluctant to return. I can't wait to begin.....

Brave Surya

Surya decided that the
white headgear looks really "in".

Get well soon.

His dim eye brightened as he spoke;
He seemed unconscious of his pain;
In fancy on the battlefield
He lived that victory o'er again.

English CAP Test for MAY

The second CAP test in English for class 5 was held on the 1st of May/2009. The test was conducted on a few chapters from the novel  BFG, by Roald Dahl. The general assessment was that the boys knew the story but a few have to work very hard not to commit spelling errors. Also noted was the inability to write the complete word. These errors cost them marks. Surya, Aman and Ashutosh have to work on this aspect. Samaksh did some silly mistakes while Aman was the most meticulous of them all. All of them also got marks for neatness and presentation. This was a pleasant  change from the last test where the presentation was not up to the mark.

The marks are as follows:

Aman Agarwal: 19
Anas Ali Khan: 08
Ashutosh: 11
Ksushgar Arora: 13
Surya Pal Singh: 07
Samaskh:17

Aman & Samaskh have a close fight going on to be the topper. I wish them all the best. For the other four, I hope that in the next test they give the leaders a run for their money.

God Bless

Today is Khushu's day. He looks a bit
sad because he had hurt his hand.
We  tried to cheer him up with our
wishes and jokes. Managed to get a
hint of a smile out of him.

God Bless.

The first CAP test in English for the session 2009-2010 was held on the 13th of April,2009. The students did quite well although Surya and Khushu do need to concentrate a bit more on their spellings.
